The Projects of Chinese Investment in Russian Far East are Increasing
Vladivostok(Sputnik), 4th September.-The projects of Chinese investment in Russian Far East are increasing, General manager of the Far East Development Aslan Kanukoyev told Sputnik.
"Over the past year, the projects of Chinese investment in the priority economic development areas and the free port area of Vladivostok have increased by one third," Kanukoyev said. China plans to invest total 33.625 billion rubles ($507 million) and actual investment is 1.415 billion rubles ($22 million).
He pointed out that the Chinese investment projects in the Freeport area mainly involved in building materials, agriculture, mining of non-ferrous and precious metals, machinery manufacturing and food production etc, but the largest investments are in the real estate and development, fisheries and aquaculture, as well as services, logistics and transportation.
Kanukoyev said 17 countries in the world are investing in the Far East, including the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and other countries. China, South Korea and Japan accounted for the top three in investment and the number of foreign enterprises in Russia.
