A China-Russia commemorative envelope unveiling ceremony was held in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Russia diplomatic relationship.

Year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the China-Russia diplomatic relationship. We need to work hard to promote people-to-people communication and consolidate the popular support for ever-lasting friendship in the new era of China-Russia relationship. Over the past 70 years, no matter how the bilateral relations have undergone changes, the friendship between the people has remained as firm as a rock. The launch of the memorial envelope will leave an indelible mark on the friendship between China and Russia.

The event was sponsored by the China Foundation for Peace and Development. The secretary general Mr.Xu Jianguo delivered a speech at the event. Gawa, the first secretary of the Russian Embassy in China, read out a message of congratulations from Charg d 'affaires A.I. of the Russian embassy in China. Chinese ambassador to Russia Li Hui and Andrei Nyevich Kovalchuk, chairman of the Russian Artists Association, sent congratulatory letters respectively.

After the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Xu Jianguo presented a crystal ball of "peace dove" representing the friendship between the two countries to Gawa, the first secretary of the Russian Embassy in China.

The foundation also invited famous Chinese painter Xu Li and famous Russian painter Vera Ragutchenkova, two top artists present their works to the commemorative envelope ceremony, took the landmark buildings of each other's country as the subject of their paintings, and painted two oil paintings with shocking effects as personalized stamps attached to the souvenir covers, indicating that China-Russia relationship will become more responsible and promising in the new era.

Artists from the two countries also cooperated in an oil painting called "Hemei", which serves as the main picture of the commemorative envelope. This picture is a beautiful girl, half of her face is Chines, dressing in typical drama costume, and the background is green bamboo with Chinese characteristics. The other of her face is Russian, dressed in Russian traditional costumes, and background is white birch which represents Russian customs.

Xu Li said that the two girls are integrated into one body and become witnesses of the friendship between China and Russia. They also represent the beautiful future depicted by the artists of the two countries, reflecting the close connection between China and Russia. Villa Lagujiankova says culture is a language that does not require translation. This beautiful girl in the painting, no matter what color she is, what color eyes she sees the world, no matter what country her clothes and language come from, the most important thing is she has a complete face, expressing the friendship between Russia and China, hoping that the two countries can move forward together.

A small souvenir cover can travel thousands of miles. The diversity of civilizations has led to communications, mutual learning and development. The China Foundation for Peace and Development said it would continue to work closely with the people from One Belt And Road countries to make the garden of world civilizations more beautiful.
